If a customer is driving his BMW and want to measure the acceleration of the car, he may do so through a new application called BMW M Power, which can be used by iPhone and iPod Touch. The application also works in non-BMW cars.

BMW M Power may report the current speed, the acceleration of the GS, time to reach a certain speed, or time required to cover a certain distance. The software uses the camera built in accelerometer to measure acceleration and then calculate the speed. The mapping M Power and three custom "skins" can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store or the website of BMW.

The icing on the cake is that Ms. Power can be downloaded absolutely free of cost.
