As you make your way west, crossing into the province of British Columbia, Yoho National Park welcomes visitors all year round at the west end of the Canadian Rockies. The park itself is home to a magnificent beauty, with 30 "three-thousanders", that is to say, the peaks measuring over 3,000 meters (almost 10,000 feet). This range offers views not only impressive, but also some of the wildest creatures in North America, including the brown bear, mountain lion and moose. Unlike the sometimes crowded Lake Louise, located right on a mountain, the peaceful surroundings of Lake O'Hara is isolated by canyons and surrounding areas is a relaxing visit to this desert world. British Columbia RV camping resorts nearby host the family tent and caravan grand rig RVers with a wide range of sites.

If you go west of Yoho National Park, the ground begins to ease when you pass on the Continental Divide and the Rocky Mountain Trench. You'll find the Kootenay National Park. Founded in 1920, showcases the park's nearly 600 square miles of landscape more varied than its two counterparts from National Park to the east, green meadows, clear lakes, dense forests and over. Above the tree line, although in the background, stand an impressive range of mountains, but not as much as those prohibiting the east. British Columbia Camping span the perimeter of the park.

Today, the canyon walls are so polite after centuries of wind and rain that the walls of limestone resembling marble (hence the name). And then there are the paint pots, a series of basins minerals formed by the river, compliments of the Vermilion River which flows nearby. For hikers, this region offers great hiking in Rockwall, a spectacular 3,000 foot cliff overlooking the valley below.
