A huge country, no place for boredom
Canada's varied climate is suitable for extreme activities of all kinds, everything from snow in the winter cold to hot summer sun. The Canadian Rockies size was along the border between British Columbia and Alberta, and contain dozens of ski resorts upscale whose snowy peaks attract adventurers during the cold winter months. The Pacific Ocean off the coast of British Columbia offers options for adventure when many things begin to warm in spring and summer, while Quebec and Ontario offer parks, lakes and bright mountainous terrain. The environment in the territories of northern Canada is less forgiving and is composed mainly of tundra, which is defined as the mountainous terrain near-naked. British Columbia is recognized internationally for its beautiful scenery, mild climate and high-flying thrills. The Pacific Ocean provides western Canadians with access to wide width. Here, surfers take to the water to test their skills against the nerves and the churning brine. Tofino offers some of the most popular surfing at Long Beach. Sea kayaking is also a popular sport. Novices and veterans will measure the depth during the summer months. However freshwater kayaking in British Columbia was far from unknown. The Columbia River, for example, has many rapids. A multitude of rivers, streams and rapids speckle across the province and allowing thrill-seekers in a fast powerful canoes or kayaks or as part of a group of whitewater rafting.


Rock climbing is also popular in British Columbia and the province is generally known as the capital of the country's extreme climbing. The climbers often choose to test their skills in the Rockies, but the inland town of Squamish provides its own unique challenge in the famous Stawamus Chief, a giant granite cliff face, offers over 1,000 different climbing routes and hosts extreme competitions national climbing every summer. The region is also a hotbed for mountain biking and competitions and corresponding events.

The Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and neighboring Alberta and provide a range entirely different options endorphin-juice. British Columbia has over 30 ski hills, including the critically acclaimed international destinations like Whistler, Big White, Panorama, Fernie, Silver Star, Kicking Horse Mountain and more. Alberta has a wide range of trails in and around Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. Resorts such as Lake Louise, Sunshine, Norquay, Marmot Basin, Fortress Mountain, Nakiska in Kananaskis Country and Canada Olympic Park in Calgary to bring skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. For an even more extreme downhill, heli-skiing here has earned a strong reputation among thrill seekers die-hard.


During the summer months, when the snow has melted, the mountains are full of cyclists, canoeists, kayakers, whitewater rafters, and other lovers of outdoor sports and extreme. These parks and the peaks are the most popular tourist destination throughout the country.

Alberta offers its own range of exciting activities. As the lakes of British Columbia, the prairie lakes see their share of wakeboarding and water skiing, jet boating and all sorts of other water sports.
