Hybrid Minivan 2009

Hybrid Minivan 2009Hybrid Cars: An Introduction

Have you thought about hybrid cars and maybe wondering what a hybrid is anyway? Well, in this article, we hope to help you understand a little better.

A hybrid is very similar to most gasoline-powered cars are driving people today, the big difference is the hybrid also uses the batteries as part of their diet, most hybrids on the road at this time are gas-electric hybrids, although there are some that are diesel-electric, but for the sake of this article we will focus on gasoline-powered electric car.

A petrol car has a fuel tank, which supplies gasoline engine, which turns the transmission, which turns the wheels. The hybrid is a compromise, it attempts to significantly raise the mileage and produce fewer emissions than gas-powered car to be useful to you or me, a hybrid should be able to fill rapidly and offer about 300 miles or more between refueling. The fuel tank on a hybrid is very sophisticated. Advanced electronics allow it to act as a motor and a generator. It can draw energy from the batteries to accelerate the car, but acting as a generator, can slow the car down and return energy back to the battery. It takes 1000 pounds of batteries to equal one gallon of gasoline in energy. This combination could reduce gasoline consumption and substantially. I'm sure things will only improve in the future for hybrid cars, they have been long in coming and will not be for everyone. The cost for hybrids are not as one might think even though some are very expensive as added extras and options, as well as any new car

Here is a list of what is available in gas powered hybrids on the market today and others that will be soon, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Honda Fit expected in 2008, Honda Insight, Hyundai Accent, in 2009, Chevrolet Malibu planned for 2007 Lexus GS 450h, Nissan Altman, in 2007, Toyota Camry, Toyota, a mini-vans and SUVs and Chevrolet Tahoe, scheduled for 2007, Dodge Durango, in 2007, Ford Escape SUV, GMC Yukon, expected In 2007, SUV Lexus RX400h, Toyota Highlander SUV, Mercury Mariner SUV, and more will be coming in the near future.

At the moment there is enough market to look to see if perhaps a hybrid car is for you. At first, the drawings seem a bit different, they take a little time to get used to, but after a while if they do seem to fit right and some will have you looking for a second time to intelligent design. Take a look and perhaps a test, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the hike and the concept of new hybrids. They are different and have some familiarity, but they are much needed and removing a portion of gas from other cars that are energy efficient on the road today. I hope that reading this article, you'll have a better understanding of what a hybrid car is all about, they seem to be here to stay.
