Overview
Lifetime Products uses the blow molding of polyethylene and metal forming technology to create a variety of industrial and consumer products. Life was the biggest blow to one point molded plastics plants in North America, occupying 2.2 million square feet (204,000 m2), and employs over 1,500 people in the world. Lifetime Products produces the unique folding chair to comply with the Business and Institutional Furniture Association Manufacturer (BIFMA), which establishes standards for durability testing of commercial quality chairs. Life is also consistent with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and their basketball systems are evaluated by the American Society for Testing and Materials.
life is based in the Freeport Center in Clearfield, Utah, USA. Vertically integrated manufacturing facilities also reside in Clearfield, with international facilities in Monterrey, Mexico, and Xiamen, China.
Life products are available in over 50 countries. In the U.S., systems are Lifetime basketball sports stores like Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, Academy Sports and outdoors, MC Sports and Modell, as well as retailers like Wal-Mart and Target and warehouse clubs like Sam's Club, Costco, BJ, and regional stores. Lifetime tables and chairs are available in stores, including Sam's Club, Costco, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Lowe's.
History
In 1972, the founder of the product lifetime, Barry Mower, undertook to make a solid pole basketball of his backyard. He bought a small length of hose used heavy, a piece of plywood, and a basketball rim, and built his own standard of basketball. Seeing the potential of what he had built, he placed an advertisement in the local classifieds and made his first sale.
His company farmyard eventually became a small sports shop goods, and in March 1986, became Lifetime Products, a name inspired by the goal of building products firm and lasting. Shortly after, staff research and design has created the "Quick Adjust" system of basketball. The concept of adjustable basketball systems transformed the market, making obsolete systems are not adjustable in mass merchant channels. Shortly afterwards, the product life has become the second largest manufacturer of quotation basketball [residential equipment].
Lifetime Products was the first company to provide a basketball in one package [citation needed], which enables retailers to practice stock, display and sell equipment basketball. They continue to develop systems of basketball portable, adjustable height tables, chairs, storage sheds, outdoor equipment, lawn and garden such wheelbarrows, carts, bins, composting, renewable and utility and camper trailers.
Lifetime Products is still led by its founder.
