Ford S-Max - VPP Strikes Back The MPV minivan or as we prefer the British was often viewed with derision by auto writers. While VPP are widely used by taxi companies for ferrying people and their luggage to and from airports in their image was somewhat tarnished over time. Most often they are packed with hordes of screaming children dirty face, throwing candy wrappers out the window and are driven by desperate mothers distracted by the antics that occur in the back. Anyone who needs seven seats to accommodate their family could frankly do with some advice on contraception.
The main problem, however they are just annoying, just boxes on wheels with all the aesthetic design of a brick house with flying qualities similar. Some of these names are not very well designed, Estima Lucida and immediately to mind that the two sounds a bit like the kind of names that the C-list celebrities support their children.
I read somewhere that the Vauxhall Sintra was judged by Euro NCAP Safety Agency European cars pose a serious threat to the occupants of the passenger in a crash and so vanished rather hastily to avoid never reappear. Everything seems to have led to major manufacturers sitting at their design teams and say "right lets do this sorting once and for all."
The last two years have seen the emergence of a new breed of VPP that is elegant and versatile and packed with the latest security features. We have also seen a lot of compact MPVs to fight against the bus family "image of previous models.
This brings me much on a car that caught my attention when I saw it and made me realize that age driving a sports car is not yet fully adopted by me.
The Ford S-Max Ford is claimed to be unique primarily because it does not fit into traditional classification MPV. Despite a somewhat dubious choice of name for the main cause of the excitement is that the S-Max was designed to be sporty. Finally, we finally have a minivan that is cool to see in. In fact, there is even a club S-Max owners in the United Kingdom!
The S-Max can still carry seven if necessary, but thanks to its sporty stance it does not seem that great. The sloping roof at the rear while the slightly aggressive style front end and side vents which distinguish it from its competitors. There is an air quality on the car thanks to both interior and exterior trim and well equipped using high quality materials from the cabin.
The driving position is excellent and more cars than others as VPP as it uses the same platform as the new Mondeo which has a large skillet floor and provides good interior space. The last row of seats folds back on the floor of the trunk rather than giving more space for luggage and the space created when you fold all the seats down is really huge and also creates a cargo area fully flat.
As for the conduct of the management is impressive and turn-in is positive and strong. Body movement is limited and the suspension is quite stiff compared to the usual walk you get to wallow larger vehicles. Depreciation is good and the S-Max feels composed and relaxed driving.
The controls are well placed and there is a six-speed gearbox which provides a slick gearshift. The overall level of equipment are good on all models with the base level "Edge" model arriving at the lower end and the top of the range Titanium "."
The options will begin to be a bit pricey, so cruise control that come standard on models with few competitors, but the looks and drive qualities of the S-Max, you are ready to sacrifice the luxury and look forward having fun behind the wheel again!
