Spartan Travel Trailer

Spartan Travel TrailerHow much would it cost (approximately) to replace the pipe and parts of towing a trailer to travel?

I am interested in buying a fixer upper real (mainly because that's all I can afford) a 1946 Spartan travel trailer Manor. This is Axel / Wheel / and language is pretty well covered with rust and look like they are in pretty bad shape. I do not know if they go too far or do if they will hold extra weight beyond the shell it is now. It is a single axel, really looking standard wheel size also. I just know he has to do, and I am dreading the price.

Difficult to answer, because at first I did not know which country you are, as it can make much difference. But let 'take a look at the rust first. Is it just surface rust? If yes, no major problems. Just clean with a wire brush, then get the shiny metal with a little sand paper (sometimes called Emery-paper), then coat it with "Rust Killer", painted with primer, then give paint it to look pretty (and to boost your ego than 100%.). If you can get out through the rust with a screwdriver and make a hole, then you have a little more of a problem. But you can still be able to repair rather than replace it. I always found it cheaper to repair than to replace, and besides, it gives me a feeling of learning something new. My other suggestion would be for you to get some people to look for you, preferably experts who do not get paid, and whether it can be repaired. Of course they will say he has to do with them, at a cost of ... But continue to ask, and learn as much as you can before you commit money on repairs that you can not afford. And be ready in case you discover that this one is too old and too far away to be economically repairable. I am still using a box trailer that was made in 1950, and is like new. A little paint and TLC gave me a good trailer cheap.
