Then a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe towing a trailer Thor Travel 1998? I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe LS and I wonder if ti can pull a 1998 21 foot slips Thor trailer travel lite.
I guess it.
What you must do is determine what the trailer weighs, to see what the GCWR (gross combined weight rating) of the Tahoe.
Most trailers that are under £ 6,000 short. An easy way to get an estimate of the weight of the trailer is to look at the label for the GVWR (gross vehicle weight). The stamp will be located on the tongue, the chassis or the front corner of the box. This will be the same as the sticker tire pressure. This number is the maximum weight that the trailers can be supported (including water, clothing, food, etc.).
I'm going to guess that your GCWR Tahoe is somewhere around £ 12,000. This means that the total weight of the Tahoe and the trailer must not exceed £ 12,000. Look in your owner's manual for ads GCWR, as they vary depending on the engine and axle ratio.
Some weight would be about the Tahoe weighs 6000 pounds, the GCWR is 12K, if your trailer can weigh up to £ 6,000.
It is a little deeper than that, and do not take my figures at court, but I have a half-ton truck, Tahoe and your vehicle is a half-ton rated so the numbers are similar.
If you have to ask, you could end up like this guy.
