Used Minivan Prices

Used Minivan PricesHow much should I depend on Edmunds for prices of used cars?

Looking for a used minivan. When I find something I might be interested in I find. Edmunds price is much, but there are some prices I should pay seems way lower than what the private demand.

their prices are more accurate than Kelly Blue Book.

If you arrange to take the average of three ranges.

they are a better estimate of the price for the seller not the buyer.

It is always in favor of sellers asking for more of their willingness to actually take.

comes with the maximum price you can afford and to propose, if they say no and walk immediately to keep looking. do not just play off

Try to use the Kelly Blue Book - kbb.com private party will always charge more because they can see their vehicles in better condition than the dealer would. They will negotiate a little more because they have leeway a little more to work with. Sometimes it's worth. But the purchase of a private party means "as is" without warranty. The dealer can give you a moment of security in case of trouble.

Bluebook reports just the average amount that similar cars have been sold during the last 6 months. It is not always very accurate especially when the economy is so volitile right now. Private parties generally overestimates the value of their vehicles because they need to know more about what it is.

Just offer what you think the price is right, and if they do not like it then move. Leave your number with them, after a few more payments overdue, they can go change his mind.

Kelley Blue Book (kbb.com) is not and was not a reliable source for the values of used cars for a very long time. I saw the prices KBB thousands of dollars too high and thousands of dollars on bass. I do not know what KBB used as a source, but whatever it is, it is not very reliable or consistent.

You can throw almost all books (NADA, KBB, Blackbook, Edmunds, etc.) right out the window if you want to know the real value of the car market.

use autotrader.com and cars.com to find similar year, makes, model, trim and miles on a vehicle you are looking for. Individuals and dealers from using these sites. Prices (from lists dealer) are usually quite aggressive because they realized that people on these sites are "shopping" price and if the price is too high, they do not even know that someone sees their registration. Never heard of a dealer advertising a high price to television or newspaper? No, they are usually their best price.

Cars.com and autotrader.com are used by dealers as they did years ago, they log. Thus, it will give you a good idea of what you can buy cars for some.

I hope this makes sense and I hope it will be useful.
