What is the collaboration with Volkswagen / Audi / Porsche / Bentley

I know that the Porsche 914 was an old soup until VW Beatle engine in it ...
I know that the engine is used in Vw Touareg SUV Porsche cayeen base too

VW Phaeton The engine is the same as one of Bentley cars as well, but I know that VW owns Bentley.

or are they just like to use / share part of the same technology
