How do I determine the cylinder bore on a modified Yamaha Banshee? I have a 2001 Yamaha Banshee that I bought used that had already been some modifications done to it. The time has come for a rebuild, but unfortunately I have no idea what it takes for a plunger kit, because I know the previous owner was bored, but I do not know how . I'm going to pull the old pistons before ordering a new kit, but once I do that how can I find oversized pistons?
To find out what size bore. There are four large number of Yamaha. On top of the piston. you must remove carbon and clean the top of the piston. There number is .25, .50, 0.75 and 1.00. size metric. and if you need to re bore. Take the bike shop or an engine rebuilding shop. They confirmed and refined. Must bring the piston to a machine shop.
If you do not bring a new piston machine shop. They confirmed. They do not know the exact size.
If you're not sure, bring more Yamaha. They take care of you. Better than piston wrong size, by order in the mail.
measure the inside diameter of the cylinder bore that tell you how it is in stock and also this kit piston diameter in the order
Have a machine shop measure the piston old, but first go to the Yamaha Dearle and a fine of that stock size was.
Bring bottled Yamaha dealer for them to check the size with a bore gauge.
The top of the piston must be marked with the size of the hole has been more then start there.
does it take to a dealer and have them measured .....
banshee origin is X 175cc 2 cylinder
measuring cylinder and just carried to the next size
